Returning back to Yorkshire after almost 20 years away - especially as an event that was suddenly thrust upon me with Mum having her catastrophic health incident out of the blue - it was a lot to process and adjust to.

Truth will out

To be continued >>>

I can hand on heart say that I returned to Yorkshire with no ill feelings towards any members of my family - I just wanted to get along - I had long ago accepted that the farm was under the management of Stuart and Helen and we had taken diverging paths in 1998.

There was no resentment from my side, but it quickly became apparent that Helen in particular was not welcoming of my return and became openly hostile to my mere presence back at Windhill.

Seemingly Helen - and indeed Stuart - has conveniently erased from their selective memory the truth that it was me - and only me - that is the reason they are occupying the role of farmers at Hob Green Farmers at all.

Regardless of what Stuart may claim these days that 'I did nothing to help them' - this claim is wholly untrue and I will not be letting it stand.

Out of this unnecessary hostility and general unpleasantness that eminated from Helen - blocking simple requests like my setting up WiFi at Windhill - or use of the derelict stable full of old junk so I might make a few gates / store a few tools etc.

Helen folded her arms and with a rigidity worthy of an Innkeeper in Bethleham made it clear that there was 'no room at the Inn'.

Blocking my use of this unused building even as a short term, tempoaray basis seemed harsh and cold - placing unnecesary obstacles when we are supposed to be a family.

Regardless of whatever excuses or 'reasons' Helen and Stuart offer up to justify the blocking of my using the disused stable for such simple purpose having zero impact or inconvenience to the farm operations - this Stable incident will stand as an example of the unprovoked hostility coming towards me.

Shameful actually.

In the summer of 2024, the subject of this Stable came up again where Helen reasserted her claimed 'authority' stating that I will "never, never have use of the Stable".

Helen has no authority to say this - she owns neither the stone barn the Stable is a part of - nor does she own the land that the stone barn is sitting on.

I do not recognise her assumed 'authority'.
